ECE 476 Lab Kit

Lab Kits:  Lab kits are required for each ECE 476/676 student (one kit per student).   Students typically go into engineering because they want to build things.  This is a course where you get to do that.  The lab kit provides you with sensors and actuators to let you build various devices, all controlled by a microcontroller.  With thi lab kit, we'll Drive digital and analog motors
Measure and display your heart beat on a graphics screen
Measure temperature & pressure, allowing you to measure the height of a building
Measure acceleration, allowing you to build a magic 8-ball or measure your vertical leap
Use the graphics display to show you what's going on
Use the touch screen for interactive programs, and
Use bluetooth and WiFi so you can communicate with your embedded system from your cell phone
The lab kits also make the course a lot more fun - as well as educational.  $65 is a little expensive - but the textbook for this course is free.  Think of the lab kit as a textbook you actually use.  You also get to keep the lab kit once the course is over.﻿
Purchasing Lab Kits:   Lab kits cost $65 in cash or checks made out to the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).  Bring a check for $65 made out to Society of Women Engineers (or cash) to room 201A in the ECE building to buy a kit.
